Job Summary

OCFD will add four Firefighter/EMS positions in November. You could be one of them! We are looking for skilled Firefighter/EMS clinicians to become full-time or part-time members of our team. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid National Registry Paramedic / Maryland Paramedic/ National Registry EMT / Maryland EMT (must upload to application)
  • Maryland Firefighter I certification, National Pro-Board Firefighter I certification or equivalent at the time of application (must upload to application)
  • Paramedic license preferred
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certified (must upload to application)
  • Valid Maryland Class C driver’s license or the equivalent of a state of license; Maryland Class B driver’s license preferred (must upload to application)

Starting Compensation Firefighter/EMT Basic $21.88/hour / $51,210/annual Firefighter/EMT Intermediate $24.01/hour / $56,177/annual Firefighter/Paramedic - new $26.34/hour / $61,626/annual Firefighter/Paramedic - experienced $27.65/hour / $64,707/annual   Based on 45-hour work week

Annual bonuses (up to $2000) for part-time personnel working needed shifts/volume.

Additional $250 bonus for rescue swimmer certification/operation.
