The City of Rocklin is seeking a Senior Equipment Mechanic to join the Public Works Department. The ideal candidate will have Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Level I certification from the California Office of the State Fire Marshal and at least two (2) years of experience working on fire apparatus. The successful candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, understand safety standards, and be able to work independently to keep fire vehicles ready for service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a high school diploma, and completion of Emergency Vehicle Technician 1A and 1B courses, or completion of Emergency Vehicle Technician 1A and proof of enrollment in the 1B course.
AND
Four (4) years of journey-level experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with broad exposure to a variety of trucks, diesels, specialized road equipment, and hydraulic systems of which one (1) year must be related to the maintenance and repair of fire apparatus.
Licenses and Certifications
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS - This position is designated as a Department of Transportation (DOT) safety-sensitive position and is subject to federal drug and alcohol testing requirements, including participation in a random drug and alcohol screening program. - While always welcome, a resume will not be accepted in lieu of an official City application.
