ENTRY-LEVEL FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC OPENINGS
ALL APPLICANTS MUST TAKE AND PASS THE FOLLOWING NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK TESTS: 1) FIRETEAM TEST; AND 2) FIREFIGHTER MILE PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST OR CANDIDATE PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST (CPAT); IN ADDITION TO ** COMPLETING A CITY OF PERRYSBURG APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.**

Honorably discharged military veterans who submit a legible copy of their DD214 will be given an additional 5% of their passing score. DD214 documents may be uploaded with this application or emailed to humanresources@perrysburgoh.gov. Documents must be received no later than closing date.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: A firefighter performs such duties as prescribed by the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Captain, Lieutenant or their designee. A firefighter responds to alarms or emergencies as directed by proper authority. He/she performs physical work for extended periods of time without rest and in inclement weather while working in a "team environment." ## Example of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate.
Certification by the State of Ohio as a Paramedic.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the City's vehicle insurance provider.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Firefighter II within one year of appointment.
