This position is responsible for responding to emergencies in fire, rescue, and hazardous materials. This position is also responsible for performing Basic (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) procedures, fire prevention, education and training, and equipment maintenance and repairs. Successful applicants will be assigned to a 12- or 24-hour shift.
Annual wages (for 2026)
Firefighter/EMT - up to $94,563.88 Firefighter/Paramedic - up to $132, 982.58

*No prior firefighting experience is necessary for fully qualified Paramedics*
Must be willing to obtain Paramedic or Fire certifications.
Minimum Qualifications: Current Firefighter/EMTs or Certified Paramedics will be considered. - High School diploma or equivalent; - Must possess minimum certification equal to the State of Minnesota’s equivalent for: - Firefighter I - Firefighter II - Hazardous Materials Operations - Emergency Medical Technician - Possess a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic certification. - Meet required NFPA medical and physical standards - Valid driver’s license. - Microsoft programs and computer functions, as well as related equipment - Minnesota Licensed Firefighter or ability to obtain Minnesota Firefighter License.
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate’s degree in a fire-relatedarea. - Knowledge of and familiarity with Fire and Building Codes - Fire experience (firefighter, investigation, fire code administration) - Ambulance/medical experience - Apparatus Operator I Certification - Technical Rescue Certifications ## Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
