Performs professional and technical task-level work for the County; assists with the County’s comprehensive risk reduction program to reduce or eliminate the loss of life and property by fire, explosion or the unauthorized discharge of hazardous materials.

Education, Experience and Training Guidelines:
Associate’s degree in a related field; AND four years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by Human Resources.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Texas Basic Certified Peace Officer.
Texas Basic Fire Investigator License
Texas Basic fire Inspector License
NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
Hazardous Materials Awareness.
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed both in an office and outdoor work environment. May be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, potential physical harm, hazardous chemicals and infectious diseases. May be required to climb ladders and work at high locations. The noise level in the work environment may vary. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
