Firefighter/EMT

The Firefighter/ EMT works under the direction of the Fire Chief and is responsible for emergency response and activities at fires, rescue scenes, and emergency medical incidents. The Firefighter/ EMT performs general duties in support of primary responsibilities including general maintenance, upkeep, documentation/ record keeping and office tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, Massachusetts EMT Basic certification (EMT Paramedic certification preferred), Firefighter 1/11 Pro-Board certification or equivalent preferred, and 1 year of experience in firefighting and emergency medical services field is preferred. Residency is 40 miles border to border.

Firefighter/ EMT position hourly salary consists of three steps from $25.81 to $30.07. Work schedule is based on 24-hour shifts with a one on, two off, one on, and four off schedules resulting in a 42-hour average workweek.

Stipends for those with Fire Science or Paramedic College Degrees.
