The Fire Marshal manages the Fire Prevention Division for the Mountain Home Fire Department and serves to implement and evaluate various programs and policies related to fire investigation, inspection, prevention, and education.
Knowledge of: - Strong knowledge of the International Fire Code
Ability to: **- ** Interpret, apply, and enforce federal, state, and local fire safety codes and ordinances with firmness and fairness - Develop and deliver effective fire safety education and training programs - Make sound, decisive decisions under pressure and in stressful, potentially life-threatening conditions - Operate and maintain various firefighting and fire safety equipment, including suppression systems, alarms, and extinguishers
The duties of this position are performed in a work environment in which the employee may be subject to potential personal danger.
