🚒 Job Opening: Full-Time Firefighter/EMT Puerco Valley Fire District – Sanders, Arizona
The Puerco Valley Fire District is now hiring for a Full-Time Firefighter/EMT position. We’re looking for dedicated, driven individuals who are ready to serve a rural community and be part of a team that lives by our motto: “Do Better.”
Position: Full-Time Firefighter/EMT Location: Sanders, AZ Pay: Based on experience Schedule: 48/96 shift rotation (or as assigned)
Job Summary: As a full-time Firefighter/EMT, you will respond to a wide variety of emergency calls including medical incidents, structure fires, wildland fires, and rescue operations. This is a hands-on role with opportunities for growth, leadership, and meaningful service in a rural district that covers over 2,500 square miles.
Duties Include:
Providing EMS care within the EMT scope of practice
Fire suppression and rescue operations
Station and equipment maintenance
Participating in ongoing training and drills
Supporting community outreach, fire prevention, and public safety efforts
Minimum Requirements:
Arizona EMT certification (or ability to obtain)
Firefighter I & II (Arizona or IFSAC/ProBoard equivalent) preferred
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a background check and physical agility test
Strong work ethic, team-oriented mindset, and commitment to excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior fire/EMS experience
Wildland Firefighting (Red Card) certifications
Arizona Firefighter II certification
