The department is a combination agency, utilizing both full-time and part-time employees, as well as volunteers.
The service area spans approximately 254 square miles and responds to around 6,000 EMS calls and 1,000 fire-related incidents annually. Operations are conducted twenty-four hours a day from two stations, with one EMS unit located at the Bearpond Fire Department to serve the southern part of the county.
