About Inverness Fire Department

The Inverness Fire Department serves the city of Inverness in Citrus County, Florida. It runs a combination model, staffing operations with full-time and part-time paid professionals alongside volunteer firefighters who the city describes as critical to day-to-day operations.

Beyond 24/7 fire suppression, the department provides Basic Life Support first-response support, business fire inspections, commercial building plan reviews, and community fire-prevention education. It is also the first officially designated Safe Place and Safe Haven location in Citrus County.
