Starting January 1, 2026 Step A Firefighter/EMT salary:

  • Starting wage: $ 70,36415.44
  • After 16 weeks: $ 79,217.37
  • After 6 months: $ 88,019.30 -90% salary of top step Firefighter/EMT

Paid Time Off:

  • Vacation: 120 hours annually/10 hours monthly (based on shift work accruals)
  • Sick Leave: 240 hours annually/20 hours month accrual. 1st year pre-loaded (based on shift work accruals)

Medical:

  • Medical, Dental & Orthodontia: currently $232.57 Monthly. Covers employee, spouse and all dependents.
  • Health Reimbursement Arrangement VEBA : Up to $1750.00 annually. Loaded January- prorated based on start date https://www.hraveba.org/faq/

Retirement:
