Employee Assistance Program

Life’s not always easy. Sometimes a personal or professional issue can affect your work, health and general well-being. You often turn to family or friends for support. But sometimes that’s not enough. Sometimes you need an experienced professional to talk with to know you’re not alone so the City of Borger offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Mutual of Omaha. The EAP can assist with family & relationships, emotional well-being, financial wellness, substance abuse & addiction, legal assistance, physical health, and work & career.

Retirement

One of the great benefits of working for the City of Borger is that you automatically become a Member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). As a TMRS Member, you can earn a monthly retirement benefit for life. The employee contributes 8% while the City contributes 16%, making a total annual retirement contribution of 24%. Our TMRS plan provides long-term financial security to a level that exempts the City from participation in the Social Security Program, so the City does not withhold the normal 3% from a full-time employee’s check.
