ENTRY-LEVEL FIREFIGHTERS

The City of Columbus is accepting applications for the position of Entry-Level

Firefighter. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must be a citizen of the United

States. Applicants must also have attained a standard high school diploma or have

received a valid GED. A copy of the diploma or GED certificate MUST be submitted to the

City’s Human Resources Office. Applicants may apply at the City’s Website listed below or

in person in City Hall.

Once the application is received, a general information packet will be e-

mailed/given to the applicant. Firefighters work 24-hour shifts.

Applicants must successfully complete a Physical Agility Test and a written

examination. The Physical Agility Test is scheduled for each 4 th Saturday of the month at

7:00 a.m. at Columbus High School Football Field. Applicants will be notified if this testing

is cancelled.
