What You Will Do
As the Fire & EMS Analyst, you will provide senior-level administrative support, coordinating department operations, budgets, procurement, records, and confidential information. You will manage communications through website and social media updates, support Public Information Act requests, and coordinate with County agencies and partner organizations. By managing priorities, improving processes, and collaborating with others, you help ensure timely, efficient, and effective department operations while upholding integrity, confidentiality, and fiscal responsibility.
Essential Duties
Serve as the senior level administrative resource for the agency. Perform multiple high level administrative functions. Coordinate and assure continuity among all administrative elements of the department.
Administer the budgetary and procurement functions of the department. Serve as the department's primary resource for the financial management system.
Develop and maintain records, including the master departmental roster, phone list, emergency contacts, and photographic library. Preserve confidentiality.
Update the website page and social media accounts for the department. Write posts for departmental news, events, public education, and administrative releases.
Liaise with the office of the County Commissioners to coordinate department appearances.
Serve as the dedicated administrative support for partner organizations, including the Emergency Services Advisory Council and the Maryland Metropolitan Chiefs Council.
Act as the initial point of contact for Public Information Act requests related to the department, responding to routine requests and forwarding other requests as necessary.
Provide guidance and training to administrative staff.
Greet and engage with visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner. Serve as a point of contact for County agencies and clients.
Perform general support functions such as scheduling meetings, distributing mail, and retrieving information. Compose, prepare, and process complex and confidential correspondence.
Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.

Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
Must be able to provide own transportation as needed for local travel.
May be required to work outside of standard hours.
Must meet Carroll County Risk Management driver eligibility requirements
