Job Details: Primarily responsible for providing professional emergency response and treatment in the pre-hospital setting.Primarily treats and transports the sick or injured.Responsible for carrying out the mission and vision of Laurens County EMS.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or have GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a vocational training program as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Current Georgia EMT-I, EMT-A, or AEMT certification.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support certification.
  • Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility performance evaluation.
  • Candidates must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English, and to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Candidates must also have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, volunteers and management.
  • Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress.
  • Be able to think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations, which may occur.
  • Be able to use diagnostic equipment, patient care equipment, and be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc.

Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background, drug screens, and physical agility testing .
