About Grant County Fire District #3

Grant County Fire District #3 protects about 15,574 residents across roughly 503 square miles of Central Washington, including Quincy, Winchester, Low Gap, George, Sunland Estates, Trinidad, and Crescent Bar. It operates from eight fire station locations with a fleet of about 40 pieces of apparatus.

The district runs as a combination department: roughly 13 full-time career positions work alongside about 60 volunteer firefighters and a 31-member Community Support Division, overseen by a three-member Board of Fire Commissioners. A resident program houses selected members in district facilities.

Call types span medical aid, vehicle accidents, wildland fires, structural fires, hazardous materials, and biological hazards. In 2022 the department answered 1,141 alarms, 702 of them EMS calls.

How to get hired
