About Round Rock Fire Department

Round Rock Fire Department serves the city of Round Rock, Texas from a growing network of stations that includes an administrative headquarters and eleven numbered fire stations, two of which are under construction as the city expands. The department operates under the motto "Not for Self but for Others" and organizes its personnel into specialized response teams: a Hazardous Materials Team of 21 firefighters and a team leader based primarily out of Station 6, a Wildland Response Team of 23 firefighters and a team leader equipped with a Type 1 engine, Type 6 brush trucks, and a wildland UTV as part of the Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS), and a Technical Rescue Team of 18 members and a team leader working out of Station 2 covering high-angle, swift-water, and heavy rescue incidents.

Beyond emergency response, RRFD maintains a Fire Marshal's Office, a Training Division covering fire and EMS training and professional development, Community Risk Reduction and public education programs, a Crisis Response Unit, and a Homeland Security and Emergency Management division. Several RRFD stations also host Williamson County EMS medic units and a medical service unit, reflecting close coordination with the county's EMS system. The department is led by Fire Chief Shane Glaiser, a 1995 hire who rose through every rank in the department before being sworn in as chief in February 2022.
