Denton Fire Department (DFD) traces its roots to 1874 and today fields about 235 sworn personnel and support staff serving a population of approximately 166,000 in Denton, Texas. The department runs an all-hazards operation spanning fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and technical rescue, and is on pace for over 24,000 calls in 2025.
DFD earned an ISO Class 1 Public Protection Classification effective October 2025, placing it among the top 1% of fire agencies nationwide.
