Beyond suppression and EMS, the department fields Special Operations Response Teams (SORT) covering hazmat, water response and recovery, and wildland/urban interface, and participates in a Regional Incident Management Team. It also handles fire prevention, code compliance inspections, and building plan review, and partners with the Fire Museum of Texas.
