About Wilson County Emergency Management Agency

Wilson County Emergency Management Agency is a countywide public-safety organization serving central Tennessee, uniting three divisions under one roof: Fire Suppression & Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management.

The agency traces its roots to the Wilson County Chapter of Civil Defense (1950), reorganized in 1961, and took its current form in 1991 when it was renamed from Lebanon-Wilson County Civil Defense to Wilson County EMA. It has grown from a single headquarters to 11 operational stations plus a training center, with Station 11 (Norene) opening in February 2018.

Because the agency runs both fire and EMS, most line personnel are cross-trained as firefighter/paramedics or firefighter/AEMTs, and the department maintains specialty capabilities in water rescue, rope operations, hazmat, extrication, and technical rescue.

Mission"To provide a high quality of life for residents and visitors of Wilson County by providing protection of life and property, immediate and advanced pre-hospital care for the sick and injured, and the mitigation of man-made and natural emergencies."
