Tiverton Fire Department

Tiverton Fire Department is the career fire and EMS agency serving the town of Tiverton, Rhode Island, a coastal community on the Sakonnet River near the Massachusetts line. The department's mission centers on protecting life and property from fire and hazardous conditions while providing emergency medical response to residents and visitors, and its crews are trained to remove anyone from danger whatever the cause.

Thirty-two uniformed firefighters staff the department across four shifts on a 42-hour schedule, operating out of three fire stations spread across three response districts to keep response times short townwide. A full-time Fire Marshal handles inspections, investigations, and fire-safety education, a full-time Captain oversees training and professional development, and an administrative assistant supports day-to-day operations. Beyond fire suppression and EMS, the department responds to hazardous materials incidents and technical and water rescues, and it maintains mutual-aid agreements with neighboring Fall River, Westport, Little Compton, and Portsmouth.
