About East Fork Fire Protection District

East Fork Fire Protection District covers more than 96% of Douglas County, Nevada, serving the Carson Valley communities of Minden, Gardnerville, Wellington, and parts of Carson City from a district administrative office and a mix of career and volunteer fire stations. The district is governed by a Board of Directors organized across five geographic districts, with divisions covering Administration, Finance, Executive Programs, Operations, Prevention, and Training & Safety.

Several of the district's stations trace their roots to legacy volunteer departments that were later absorbed into the district, including Ranchos Fire Rescue (established 1974) and the former Topaz Ranch Estates Volunteer Fire Department (established 1967), both of which still operate as active career stations today. The district also hosts the NV Energy Genoa Peak Fuels Crew, a seasonal wildland fuels-reduction operation based out of one of its stations.

East Fork responds to structure fires, wildland fires, HazMat incidents, aircraft fire and rescue calls, technical rescues, and emergency medical calls, and supplements its career staff with a volunteer program made up of logistical firefighters and non-responding support volunteers.

MissionA team of compassionate, honest, and dedicated professionals committed to serving the fire and life safety needs of our community.
