Department careers page ↗The O'Fallon Fire Protection District traces its roots to 1906, when it began as the O'Fallon Volunteer Fire Department. Over the following century it grew from a volunteer bucket brigade into a career fire district with a formal three-bureau structure covering administration, emergency services, and fire prevention.
Today the district protects most of the city of O'Fallon along with all of St. Paul and portions of Dardenne Prairie, Lake St. Louis, St. Peters, and unincorporated St. Charles County. It runs four staffed stations around the clock plus a fifth, volunteer-supported station, backed by a fleet that includes a 100-foot ladder truck, six pumper engines, a pumper/tanker, two brush trucks, and a medium-duty rescue truck.
The district has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing fire districts in Missouri and was the first fire protection district in the state to earn international accreditation, achieving that designation in 2007. It is governed by a three-member elected board of directors and led by Fire Chief Tom Vineyard.
