Saint Clair Shores Fire Department

The St. Clair Shores Fire Department serves the City of St. Clair Shores, a Lake St. Clair waterfront community of approximately 60,000 residents in Macomb County, Michigan. The department combines fire suppression with advanced life support, staffing the ranks with cross-trained Firefighter/Paramedics.

Beyond emergency response, the department runs a Fire Prevention Bureau that handles fire safety inspections, public education, and a Juvenile Fire Setter Program aimed at children who show an unhealthy interest in fire. Its public safety messaging stresses home fire prevention, noting that three out of four fires occur in the home.

Department personnel are represented by IAFF Firefighters Local 1744.
