About Bloomfield Township Fire Department

Bloomfield Township Fire Department protects the community of Bloomfield Township in Oakland County, Michigan. Established in 1930, it is a full-service career department providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, and community fire-safety education around the clock.

The department is staffed by 64 uniformed career firefighters and officers plus an administrative assistant, operating out of a Central Fire Station near Andover and Exeter Roads. Emergency services run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while the administrative office keeps a Monday-Thursday schedule.

Beyond emergency response, the department invests heavily in prevention and outreach, offering CPR classes, station tours, community presentations, and an annual open house each October. A 9/11 memorial featuring steel from the World Trade Center is displayed at the Central Station.
