Saint Landry Parish Fire District 3

St. Landry Fire District 3 covers just under 300 square miles of St. Landry Parish, making it the largest fire district in the parish. It is based outside Opelousas and serves a network of rural communities and small towns rather than a single urban core.

The district maintains stations across its coverage area, based in Washington, Lawtell, Shuteston, Ft. Hamilton, Whiteville, Grand Prairie, Frilot Cove, Beggs, and the outskirts of Opelousas. This wide distribution reflects the largely rural, spread-out nature of the territory it protects.

In 2022 the district took delivery of two new Spartan FC-94 fire apparatus, an addition to its fleet of frontline equipment.
