Department careers page ↗Fishers Fire & Emergency Services (FFES) is the career fire department for the City of Fishers, Indiana, operating as an all-hazards response agency out of seven strategically located stations covering roughly 40.5 square miles. The department is regularly cited as ranking in the top tier of fire departments nationally, and its leadership points to innovative work in first responder safety and mental health along with proactive disaster preparedness planning as points of pride.
Beyond frontline fire suppression, FFES runs a full Emergency Medical Services division delivering round-the-clock Advanced and Basic Life Support care, a Special Operations division covering technical rescue, water/dive rescue, and hazardous materials response, and a Fire Prevention Bureau handling inspections, code enforcement, and fire investigations. Special Operations personnel are housed at Stations 91, 92, and 93, with Public Safety Divers staffed at Stations 91 and 92 on every shift.
The department is led by Fire Chief Ky Ragsdale, a third-generation firefighter and 20-plus-year veteran of FFES who took command in January 2025 after serving as Battalion Chief and spearheading the department's Recruit Academy.
