Department careers page ↗White County Fire Services is one of four divisions of the White County Office of Public Safety, based in Cleveland, Georgia, alongside the county's 911 Communications, Emergency Management, and Animal Control divisions. Fire operations are led day-to-day by a Deputy Chief who reports to the county's Director of Public Safety, reflecting the consolidated public-safety model many north Georgia counties use to coordinate fire, EMA, and dispatch under a single office.
The division's stated focus is threefold: delivering the best possible fire protection and emergency response for the sick and injured, educating the public about fire hazards, and working to control and eliminate fire risks throughout the county. Fire crews also work alongside White County's contracted EMS provider, Northeast Georgia Health System, which stages an ambulance sub-station at County Fire Station #4 on Westmoreland Road.
White County Fire Services recruits on a rolling basis rather than around single job postings, welcoming applicants who meet the county's age and physical-readiness standards to apply through the county's general employment portal.
MissionThe primary mission of the White County Fire Services shall be to provide to the Community: 1) the best possible fire protection and emergency response services for the sick and injured, 2) education of the public to the hazards and dangers of fire, 3) assistance to improving the control of and elimination of fire hazards.
