Department careers page ↗Columbia County Fire Rescue provides fire protection and public education, vehicle extrication and rescue, and medical first response across Columbia County in eastern Georgia, part of the Augusta metropolitan area.
The department operates fifteen stations that are fully staffed twenty-four hours a day. It carries an ISO Class 1/1X rating, effective February 2017, placing it among a small group of communities nationwide to earn the top fire-protection classification.
Beyond suppression and rescue, the department runs strong community-risk programs, including child passenger safety seat inspections, a residential carbon monoxide alarm program, and CPR/AED training. It also fields a volunteer dive team for underwater search and recovery.
