Barrow County Emergency Services

Barrow County Emergency Services (also referred to as the Barrow County Fire Department) protects a growing Northeast Georgia community from six strategically located fire stations. The department is built around an all-hazards model, responding to structure fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters, and complex rescue situations.

Beyond suppression apparatus and command units, the department operates state-licensed medical response units (ambulances) and partners with the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group to deliver emergency medical care. This blend of fire and transport-capable EMS makes it a single-agency solution for much of the county's emergency needs.

The department also invests heavily in prevention and community engagement, running a Fire Marshal's Office and Community Risk Reduction programs, plus public outreach such as quarterly CPR training and a summer 'Read Like a Hero' reading challenge.
