Palm Coast Fire Department
Palm Coast, FL · Flagler County
Palm Coast Fire Department traces its roots to April 3, 1973, when it began with 36 members—many of them retired firefighters from around the country who had moved to the growing Florida community. What started as a small volunteer force protecting 125 residents has grown into a combination paid and volunteer department.
Today the department serves nearly 105,000 citizens across 64 square miles from six stations, running six Advanced Life Support fire apparatus and responding to more than 18,000 calls each year. Its ranks include 20 frontline personnel, five chief officers, fire administrators, and more than 50 volunteer firefighters, fire police, associates, and interns.
Palm Coast itself is one of Florida's newest cities, incorporated in 1999 and set among 70 miles of saltwater and freshwater canals, the Intracoastal Waterway, historic oaks, and towering pines. The department also runs community outreach, home inspections, and safety programs for residents.
