About Springdale Fire Department

Springdale Fire Department is the career fire and emergency medical services provider for the City of Springdale, a fast-growing Northwest Arkansas community of roughly 84,000 residents spread across about 50 square miles. The department maintains an ISO Class 1 rating, one of the highest fire-protection classifications a community can achieve, reflecting its staffing, apparatus, water supply coordination, and training standards.

SFD operates from eight fire stations plus a dedicated training center and burn tower used to prepare recruits and maintain live-fire proficiency for the existing force. The department is expanding to keep pace with the city's growth, with a new Station 10 under construction on Wagon Wheel Road and slated to open in summer 2026.

Beyond structural firefighting, Springdale firefighters are cross-trained to deliver EMS response, hazardous materials mitigation, and technical/urban search-and-rescue capability, and the department's Training Division runs an inclusive curriculum spanning fire suppression, emergency medicine, hazmat, and technical rescue disciplines for its personnel.

MissionTo save lives, protect property, and minimize the effects of all emergencies in the City of Springdale.
